The Plains of Passage Ayla, the heroine first introduced in The Clan of the Cave Bear, is known and loved by millions of readers. ![]() Their goal is the Cro-Magnon settlement in what is now southern France where Jondalar lived as a young man. Also, it's a bit discouraging to rewrite something we already wrote. ![]() So, we're kind of back on the nightly writing sessions. Rewriting is going more slowly because the writer in the duo accepted a six-month contract in their primary field in January. We hired an attorney to help us navigate the situation after holiday but they were ultimately unable to help and we are better off just rewriting Book 6 so it doesn't get swept up in anything. We talked a big game about pulling away but we don't really see a viable way for us to do that. We're in the process of rewriting Herald of Shalia 6 so it can be published through Amazon. ![]() So, to cut to the chase, here is what's going on. This left us in a really foul mood and it left us with a bunch of stuff to deal with from attempting to get it published to bringing in some income. Not only did we struggle finishing Book 6 of Herald of Shalia but we ran into publishing issues as well. We're sorry for not responding to people messaging and emailing us but we needed to pull away from social media because we just didn't have the bandwidth for it. ![]() We know a lot of people have been concerned for our well-being and we appreciate that. ![]() ![]() ![]() The full title of both the 18 editions is Life and Times of Frederick Douglass, Written by Himself. The 1892 revision brought Douglass's story up to date with thirteen new chapters, the final three of which covered his experience in Haiti, to which he was U.S. Although it is the least studied and analyzed, Life and Times of Frederick Douglass allows readers to view his life as a whole. Fredrick Douglass shed light on what life was like as an enslaved person. It is the only one of Douglass's autobiographies to discuss his life during and after the Civil War, including his encounters with American presidents such as Lincoln and Garfield, his account of the ill-fated " Freedman's Bank", and his service as the United States Marshall of the District of Columbia. ![]() Because of the emancipation of American slaves during and following the American Civil War, Douglass gave more details about his life as a slave and his escape from slavery in this volume than he could in his two previous autobiographies (which would have put him and his family in danger). ![]() Life and Times of Frederick Douglass is Frederick Douglass's third autobiography, published in 1881, revised in 1892. ![]() ![]() ![]() The new student is boring and felt like he was there barely there throughout the story. She is dangerously verging on Mary Sue territory. Though she is worried about not being a good teacher, Sandry is a natural right away and barely makes any mistakes. ![]() So 14-year-old Sandry becomes a teacher to mage even though she only has two years of experience with magic under her belt. And due to the laws that govern mages in this world, the discovering mage must serve as teacher for time. It is clear that in this series titled The Circle Opens each of the four students we grew to know in The Circle of Magic will be discovering young mages who also have ambient magic. This book feels like an introduction to the rest of the series rather than a book that serves itself. ![]() ![]() To top it all off, there’s a string of murders happening with the aid of a mage who works with unmagic, a rare and barely understand magical working that is the absence of all things: light, matter, even magic itself. But she has plenty to keep her busy like helping her uncle run the Kingdom in his weakened state and teaching a young mage, Pasco, that she discovered who can dance his magic. For the first time since joining Discipline Cottage at Winding Circle Temple, Sandry is without her chosen family. Her teacher is still at Winding Circle, and all of her friends are travelling around the world with their teachers. Sandry has been living with her uncle, the Duke of Emelan, ever since he had a heart attack a few months ago. BINGO – OLD SERIES (originally published in 2000) ![]() |
